Carbon laser facial is a revolutionary cosmetic laser treatment for enlarged pores, dull skin, oily skin and acne scars present on the face. The painless treatment has minimal downtime. Carbon laser treatments are also sought to exfoliate and refresh skin that leaves skin softer, smoother, and firmer.
A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin. The carbon penetrates deep into the pores, and laser light is passed over the area. Laser light is highly attracted to carbon particles, and in the process of destroying the carbon, the dead skin cells, contaminants, and oil are also eliminated.
Vampire facials, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial is a skin rejuvenating treatment. It received the name because the patient’s own blood is used in the treatment. The treatment may appear unpleasant, but it is relatively painless in refreshing skin and easing wrinkles.
The PRP is separated using a centrifuge which essentially removes white and red blood cells, leaving a serum of platelets in the plasma. The concentration, rich in growth factors, is injected into the face. Some dermatologists may additionally combine the procedure with derma fillers to further plump certain areas of the face, such as under the eye.
The first day of the treatment may incur some redness and tenderness, which should subside on the second day. Some patients notice swelling which typically diminishes on the third day. Within two or three months, patients observe immense changes including tighter skin, less wrinkles, even skin tone, reduced acne, and smaller pores.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial is an innovative skin rejuvenation procedure. It is the latest in modern dermatology transforming patient’s sun damage, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and many more problems into radiant skin by improving skin texture, eliminating discolouration, reducing pore size, and minimising wrinkles and face lines.
The 30-minute procedure uses intense light pulses to penetrate deep into the skin. This constricts the collagens and blood vessels below the epidermis and thereby reduces redness and age lines. This involves minimal discomfort while routine redness and swelling that occur post-treatment disappear shortly.
Chemical peels are skin-resurfacing cosmetic treatments that can be tailored to suit the requirements of each patient. They essentially improve the appearance of the skin either on the face, neck or hands by removing the outer layers. While chemical peels sweep away complexion-dulling dead skin cells, various acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation are either completely corrected or significantly improved. The new and regenerated skin is smoother, softer and less wrinkled than before providing an improved and glowing texture to the skin.
Microdermabrasion (MDA) is a exfoliating skin treatment that remove dead or damaged skin cells, refine skin texture and colour, and clean out pores to improve acne. They also improve tanning, pigmentation and scars.
MDA involves using very fine crystals or diamond fraises that are used to exfoliate superficial skin layers to help remove dead and damaged skin cells. Both these methods are usually gentle enabling patients to engage in daily activities soon after the treatment.
The skin may appear pink for one- or two-days post treatment. Makeup may be used right after the treatment as long as it is applied on top of a moisturiser, and removed gently. In addition, patients will be recommended to increase their use of moisturisers as skin will temporarily be drier than usual.
